大会長挨拶

Welcome Message

Dear Friends and Colleagues of the Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry,

On behalf of the president of the 52th Congress of Japanese Association of Pediatric Dentistry (JAPD), I would like to cordially invite all of you to the congress to be held in May 16th-17th 2014, in Tokyo, Japan. The congress will be held at the Shinagawa General Civic Hall “Curian,” adjacent to JR Ōimachi Station.

In Japan, parents and their children live in an environment significantly changing with growing social trends toward families with fewer children and nuclear families. With the disease structure shifting from infections to lifestyle-related diseases, the incidence of dental caries has decreased among children while the functions of teeth and the mouth are drawing attention anew. The aim of maternal and child health care has also shifted from “early detection of disease and early treatment” to “prevention of disease” and, currently, to “child-raising support”.  Under such circumstances, we should watch over the growth of parents and their children closely through child-raising support from the perspective of dentistry while promoting the oral health of children.

Thus we have set the theme of the coming congress as “For the Future of Children: Pediatric Dental Practice Fostering the Parent-Child Bond.”

I do hope you will participate in the congress and make presentations.

In the congress, a special lecture by Professor Soon-Hyeun NAM, President of the Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, is scheduled for May 16 (Fri).

As for us, all the Japanese members look forward to receiving his lecture and sharing valuable time with participants  from  Korea.

We look forward to meeting and working with all of you here in Japan, about “For the Future of Children: Pediatric Dental Practice Fostering the Parent-Child Bond.”

Yours Sincerely,

Mitsuko Inoue

President of The 52nd Congress of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Dentistry (JAPD),

Professor of  Department of Pediatric Dentistry, School of Dentistry, Showa University

Guidelines for Preparing the Abstract

  1. An abstract collection will be compiled in the modified A4 format, assigning one page to each speech subject. Information must be entered within the predefined space. With reference to the downloaded template, type letters in two columns, each comprising 37 lines of 37 letters, using the font type Century and font sizes of 11 points (for the title), 10.5 points (for the author/organization names) and 9 points (for the main text).
  2. In the abstract, specify the speech subject, the names of all authors (of whom the presenter should be marked with a circle), their organizations, the objective, targets, methods, results, discussion, conclusion and bibliography in this order without omission. Note that if there is any omission regarding the results, etc., the abstract will be rejected. Only abstracts written in English are acceptable.
  3. Make one blank line each between the speech subject and the author names and between the organizations and the main text.
  4. Any author whose organization differs from that of the principal author should be marked with an asterisk (*) on the right shoulder of his/her name, with his/her organization name marked with * on its left shoulder, for differentiation. For authors belonging to more than two organizations, use asterisks incrementally to indicate their secondary and subordinate organizations (e.g., * for the secondary, ** for the tertiary, and so forth).
  5. Monochrome charts, photographs, etc. can be inserted in the abstract. Take care of their sizes, because the abstracts submitted will be processed in full proportion into the abstract collection.
