Welcome Message
It is a great pleasure and honor to welcome all of you to the Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall, Chiba for the 12th International Congress of Physiological Anthropology (ICPA). Chiba provides a perfect location for an international congress since it is located between the Narita International Airport and downtown Tokyo. The mixture of modern skyscrapers and lush greenery along with small-town hospitality and urban amenities will certainly make your experience in the city enjoyable. In the neighborhood of the Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall, there are many hotels, shopping malls, a professional baseball stadium, and the Tokyo Disney Resort.
The theme of this 12th ICPA is “Opening Doors for the Future of Physiological Anthropology.” Since the 1st International Congress of Physiological Anthropology took place in Tokyo in December 1991, almost 25 years ago, the field of physiological anthropology has grown both wider and deeper. I hope that this congress will be an opportunity for physiological anthropologists from all over the world to share their knowledge and experiences, and particularly for physiological anthropology to advance to the next stage.
All the members of the Organizing Committee, Program Committee, and Executive Committee of the 12th ICPA believe that you will enjoy your stay in the new center of Chiba city. We are looking forward to seeing you at this congress.
Sincerely yours,
Tetsuo Katsuura, Ph.D.
Professor, Chiba University
Chairperson, The 12th ICPA Organizing Committee
